James V. Kelly graduated with honors from the University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth) in 1984, and received his law degree from Suffolk University in 1988. Before joining the firm in 1998, Jim served for eight years as Corporate Counsel to one of the largest privately held U.S. companies in the petroleum/convenience store industries, qualifying for the Forbes 500 list of top private companies and being one of the top five (5) privately held companies headquartered in the State of Rhode Island. He has experience in commercial and residential real estate, banking and mortgage lending, corporate law, employment and labor law, and creditors’ rights. He is admitted to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
